Joe Nana Adarkwa lauds ‘determination’ from Ampem Darkoa players in win over ASFAR

Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ head coach, Joe Nana Adarkwa, commended the efforts of his team following their triumph over ASFAR Club in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Ghanaian side secured a 2-1 win in their debut campaign in the competition, bouncing back from a first-half deficit.

In the early stages of the game, Ampem Darkoa Ladies appeared to be struggling, but they regrouped after conceding the first goal.

The team displayed an impressive second-half performance to secure a well-deserved victory.

Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa acknowledged the quality of ASFAR but emphasized the importance of his players’ caution in the first half.

He highlighted their hard work and determination as key factors in achieving a positive result.

“Everyone knew ASFAR are a very good side, so I warned the girls to be cautious in the first half. But after reading the game and seeing that we could match them after opening up, that saw us play better in the second half,” Adarkwa explained.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will return to action on Thursday, November 9, when they face Malian side AS Mande in their second group game. Following their victory, Ampem Darkoa currently leads Group B, while the match between Hurricanes FC and AS Mande ended in a 1-1 draw.
