Hearts of Oak’s winless streak continues with goalless draw against FC Samartex

By Frank APPIAH, Accra
Hearts of Oak were held to another stalemate against FC Samartex in the Ghana Premier League extending their winless run to three games.
The Phobians found it difficult to unlock the resilient defense of Samartex, as they struggled to create substantial goal-scoring opportunities.
Their frustrations mounted when Samartex’s goalkeeper, Kofi Baah proved pivotal for the away side as he pulled remarkable saves to preserve the result.
Coach Koopman tried more to find a way by bringing on Kashala Ramos and Salifu Ibrahim to add more spice to the attack but all proved futile with a compact defense of Samartex repelling all attempts.
The result further complicates Hearts of Oak’s league position, as they now find themselves in the 12th spot on the league table, with a mere five points out of a possible 18 from six games.
Their struggles at the Accra Sports Stadium have yielded just one win, alongside two draws, in the current season, leaving the team and its supporters eager for a change in fortune.
The Phobians will hope to bounce back in their next game against Bibiani Gold Stars at Duns Park.
