Hudson-Odoi hints of possible Black Stars switch

Callum Hudson-Odoi, has given the clearest indication yet that he is open to switching nationality to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.
The English-born winger has been on Ghana’s radar for some time now and efforts to get him to switch nationalities in the lead up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar fell through.
However, the youngster has confirmed to The Telegraph his consideration of a potential change in nationality to represent Ghana.
His admission will come as welcome news to the top brass of the Ghana Football Association who have been on an aggressive campaign to recruit players of Ghanaian decent to represent the Black Stars.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has already earned three caps for the English national team and possesses eligibility to play for Ghana through his parentage.
When asked about his aspirations to return to the international stage, Hudson-Odoi responded,
“That decision hasn’t been made yet. I’m still thinking it over.
Ghana is a very good option but let’s wait and see.
Hopefully, once I start playing games here, maybe Gareth [Southgate] or Ghana will come.
It’s a nice position to be in and hopefully, sooner or later we will know.”
Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of making his debut for Nottingham Forest, potentially facing Burnley on Monday, following his transfer from Chelsea.
He secured a three-year contract valued at £3 million, with the possibility of an additional £2 million in add-ons.
If his desire to make the Ghana switch is made concrete he could be a viable option for the Black Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast next January.
