Oguaa Chief extols Central Region’s investment potential and calls for economic contribution

Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Omanhen of Oguaa and the President of Oguaa Traditional Council, has called on investors to tap into the abundant economic prospects that lie within the Central Region of Ghana.

In a strong appeal, he urged both local and foreign investors to actively participate in contributing to the region’s economic growth as well as the development of the broader Ghanaian landscape.

His remarks were delivered during the official launch of the Ghana Central Region Investment, Trade, and Tourism Expo 2023, a nine-day event oganized by the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) in collaboration with TIAST Group.

The Expo, themed “Sustaining Business Opportunities: Nurturing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in the Central Region,” commenced on August 28 at the Adisadel College School Park and will be climaxed on September 2.

Osabarimba Kwesi Atta’s advocacy for investment reflects a strong belief in the region’s potential to flourish.

With unwavering confidence, he outlined the Central Region’s allure for prospective investors.

“The Central Region, just as its name stipulates, is at the center of the country and is easily accessible by all, which makes it easier for traders and investors.

“The region possesses the best of educational facilities and is ready to accommodate health facilities, and the region in terms of security is also very safe,” he stated.

The Chief underscored that for investment opportunities to fully blossom within the region, the government should cultivate an environment conducive to business success.

He drew attention to the region’s assets such as vast arable land, prime geographical proximity to the capital, robust infrastructure, and its tourist attractions.

Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan, echoed Osabarimba Kwesi Atta’s sentiments and highlighted the importance of collaboration and sustainable growth.

She said, “The trade fair stands as a testament to the cooperative spirit of the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC), traditional leaders, and the people of the Central Region, united in their pursuit of economic excellence.”

With a focus on agriculture, the Minister emphasized the pivotal role of agroprocessing in the region’s advancement.

According to her, investors should look at investing in agroprocessing factories across the region to tap into the rich potential of the region’s agricultural sector which has the potential to transform the economy.

The Minister’s commitment to empowering the youth was evident as she revealed her plans to organize a forum that would help young people develop their entrepreneurial skills.

“As part of the programmes earmarked for this year, there will be a forum for the youth to learn about entrepreneurial skills development to guide their future, and it is my expectation that this target group will take full advantage of this great opportunity,” she announced.

The event witnessed distinguished attendees, including Mr. Henhui Chen, Chairman of TIAST China, chiefs, queen mothers, and the Chief Executive Officer of COA Mixture.

As the Expo unfolds, investors are called on to join hands in fostering economic growth while capitalizing on the region’s invaluable assets.
