Partey explains rationale behind Arsenal move

Thomas Partey has revealed that his decision to join Arsenal and play in the Premier League was driven by his desire for a new challenge.
The midfielder made a high-profile move to the North London club in a deal reportedly worth £45 million, establishing him as the most expensive Ghanaian player of all time.
Although Partey is currently in his fourth season in the Premier League, his time in England has not lived up to the expectations set during his successful stint in Spain.
Reflecting on his decision to move to Arsenal in an interview, the Black Stars player emphasized that he sought a significant change and challenge for himself.
Partey highlighted the transition from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal, noting that at Atletico, he arrived as a youth player without the same level of expectation and responsibility.
However, upon joining Arsenal, he found himself in a club where there was immense scrutiny due to his transfer fee and the high level of attention.
Acknowledging the pressure that comes with such a move, Partey emphasized his determination to adapt and thrive in his new environment.
He described the Premier League as incredibly tough but expressed his eagerness to face the challenge head-on and prove himself capable of performing at the highest level.
Despite facing challenges, Partey has made 106 appearances for Arsenal since his arrival and played a pivotal role in their pursuit of the Premier League title during the 2022/23 season.
