Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 13th African Games, Mr. Samson Deen, is rallying massive support for the national youth female team, which has reached the final of the female football event of the international multisport festival.
Mr. Deen emphasized the significance of football, stating that winning the football gold would be akin to winning the entire festival. To boost morale, he introduced an activation call slogan – “Target the podium for gold and take it by force.”
The Women’s Football Final is scheduled for Thursday at 8pm, where Ghana will face off against the Falconets of Nigeria, reigniting the longstanding rivalry between the two countries in sports.
While Nigeria has clinched numerous medals in various disciplines, they are also eyeing victory in football. However, Ghana is determined not to let the football gold slip away and is prepared to seize it forcefully, as Mr. Deen emphasized.
According to the CEO of African Origin Travel and Tours, Ghana is mobilizing supporters to storm the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to claim what they believe rightfully belongs to them.
“Nigeria may have secured many medals already, but the football gold is ours, and we are going to claim it forcefully,” he declared.
To encourage attendance, he announced that entry to the Cape Coast Stadium is free, with free seating and enjoyment for all attendees. Additionally, spectators will receive complimentary Accra 2023 Official Games T-Shirts.
Furthermore, he urged football enthusiasts to contact Bright at 024 409 4605 or WES MIKE at 024 629 2106 to secure a spot on the free bus transportation to Cape Coast and back.
In related news, the Black Satellites, Ghana’s national Under 20 team, has also advanced to the final after defeating Senegal 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The football final is scheduled for Friday.
