By Christabel Oboshie ANNAN & Zeenatu ABUBAKAR, Accra

Some electricity prepaid vendors have reported a decline in sales due to the nationwide internet disruption.

According to them, the outage frustrated many customers, leaving some in darkness overnight.

Vendors expressed appreciation for their customers’ patience during this time.

The New Finder interacted with vendors about the impact of the disruption.

A vendor at Alajo Central Mosque, Celestine Cara, faced significant challenges during the disruption.

She recounted two days of inefficient work due to poor internet service, resulting in zero sales.

Cara noted that despite the internet outage, her service provider still deducted data charges.

She described financial losses, customer frustrations, and early closures as a result of the internet issues.

She mentioned that since the internet has stabilized, she has been able to resume making sales.

However, she noted that the current situation is not as ideal as when the internet was working perfectly well.

Moses Mensah, operating in Kotobabi, expressed minimal impact on his business due to his utilization of MTN cable internet and a backup Wi-Fi network named Simba.

He expressed satisfaction with his network, stating that it was working perfectly well, allowing him to make his usual sales without any frustration or disruption.

According to him, the only challenge he faced was from the ECG, which caused a temporary network outage.

Additionally, in terms of the internet, the TurboNet remained unaffected and continued to provide a reliable connection.
