GSE Stock Prices Rise 4.64%

Investors on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) enjoyed another positive week as share prices advanced across several counters, pushing the average stock price gain to 4.64% for the week ended July 31, 2026, amid strong trading activity and sustained investor interest.

The week’s top performers were HORDS and Intravenous Infusions Limited (IIL). HORDS recorded the biggest gain, with its share price surging 50% from GH¢0.26 to GH¢0.39. IIL followed with a 27.27% increase, rising from GH¢0.66toGH¢0.84.

IIL has remained one of the exchange’s standout performers this year, with its share price appreciating an impressive 1,580% since the beginning of 2026, reflecting sustained investor confidence and strong market demand.

Other listed companies also posted gains during the week. CPC rose 6.25%, while CLYD advanced 5.56%. MTN Ghana, which remained the market’s most actively traded stock, gained 2% to close at GH¢7.14, reinforcing its position as a favourite among institutional and retail investors.

Despite the broadly positive performance, some equities recorded losses as investors locked in profits following earlier rallies. ALLGH led the decliners, dropping 9% from GH¢7.00 to GH¢6.37. SIC, SOGEGH and RBGH also ended the week in negative territory.

Trading activity on the exchange strengthened significantly. Investors traded 29.73 million shares valued at GH¢168.92 million, representing a 251% increase in the value of shares traded compared with the previous week.

A substantial portion of the activity was concentrated in MTN Ghana, which accounted for more than GH¢131 million of the total value traded. The strong turnover highlights continued investor confidence in the telecommunications giant, even as traders sought opportunities in smaller-cap stocks that delivered stronger price appreciation.

Market analysts say the combination of rising share prices and increased trading volumes reflects improving investor sentiment on the Ghana Stock Exchange. The strong performance of selected equities suggests that investors remain optimistic about the earnings prospects of listed companies and are positioning themselves to benefit from future market opportunities.

The latest market performance also underscores renewed confidence in Ghana’s capital market, with investors balancing interest in high-growth stocks with continued demand for established blue-chip companies. If positive economic conditions and corporate performance persist, analysts expect investor participation and trading activity on the exchange to remain strong in the coming weeks.
