Hearts of Oak Dismisses Speculation on Benjamin Asare’s Transfer

Transfer speculation surrounding Benjamin Asare intensified this week, but Accra Hearts of Oak have insisted they have neither placed a valuation on the goalkeeper nor authorised anyone to quote an asking price on the club’s behalf.
The Ghana Premier League giants issued a strongly worded statement on July 15, 2026, dismissing widespread reports suggesting they had assigned a transfer fee to the Black Stars shot-stopper following his outstanding performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to the club, the claims circulating across traditional and social media platforms are false and without any factual basis, stressing that no official valuation has been placed on Asare and no individual, intermediary or media organisation has been mandated to communicate a transfer fee on behalf of the club.
“The Club wishes to state, unequivocally, that these reports are false and without factual basis. Accra Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare and has not authorised any individual or media outlet to communicate a transfer fee or asking price on its behalf,” part of the statement read. Speculation surrounding the Ghana international has intensified in recent weeks after he emerged as one of the Black Stars’ standout performers during the World Cup, producing a string of commanding displays that earned widespread praise from football fans, pundits and scouts reportedly monitoring the tournament.
Hearts of Oak also urged journalists, supporters and stakeholders to rely only on official club communications when reporting on Asare’s future, warning against the spread of unverified information capable of misleading the public. The club further expressed its pride in the goalkeeper’s achievements, congratulating him for representing both Hearts of Oak and Ghana with distinction on football’s biggest stage while reaffirming its commitment to supporting his continued growth and protecting the integrity of its operations.
Benjamin Asare is now widely regarded as the latest product of that proud tradition, and while transfer speculation is expected to continue after his impressive World Cup campaign, Hearts of Oak have made it clear that no official valuation exists and that any decision regarding his future will be made carefully, transparently and in the best interests of both the player and the club.
