Black Sherif Boosts Black Stars’ Morale

Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has boosted morale in the Black Stars camp after making a surprise visit to the national team in the United States ahead of their matches.

The award-winning artiste, who recently clinched the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year title, joined the team during their final preparations for the global tournament. His visit formed part of growing public and celebrity support for the squad as they aim to make a strong impression on the world stage.

During the visit, Black Sherif interacted with players and technical staff, offering words of encouragement as the team fine-tunes its strategy for the competition. He also created a lively atmosphere in camp by performing some of his hit songs, turning the training environment into a moment of celebration and relaxation.

Players were seen engaging with the musician, singing along to his popular tracks and sharing light-hearted moments ahead of the high-pressure tournament. The visit provided a welcome break for the squad, which has been undergoing intense training sessions since arriving in the United States.

The Black Stars are gearing up for a challenging Group L campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face England, Croatia and Panama. The tournament marks another opportunity for Ghana to build on its global football reputation following previous appearances on the world stage.

Ghana will open its campaign against Panama on June 17 at the Toronto Stadium in Canada. The team will then face England on June 23 at the Boston Stadium in Massachusetts before concluding its group matches against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.

The expanded 48-team World Cup format offers additional opportunities for progression, with Ghana aiming to secure a place in the knockout stage by finishing among the top teams in its group.

The Black Stars continue to receive widespread support from fans, former players and public figures, all rallying behind the team as they prepare for one of football’s biggest tournaments. Officials say team morale remains high as preparations intensify ahead of kick-off.
