Togbe Afede XIV Urges Ethical Leadership at CEO Summit

The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has called on business leaders and policymakers to embrace ethical leadership, innovation and inclusive development to drive Ghana’s economic transformation.
Speaking at the 10th Ghana CEO Summit, where he served as Chairman of the event, Togbe Afede stressed the need for leaders to move beyond rhetoric and focus on solving real national challenges through responsible leadership and strategic action.
According to him, Ghana’s future development depends largely on visionary leadership, integrity, innovation and the ability of institutions to create opportunities that improve the lives of citizens.
He noted that businesses and leaders must remain committed to building strong institutions capable of promoting productivity, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
Togbe Afede further urged both public and private sector leaders to adopt practical measures that would create jobs, improve livelihoods and empower communities across the country.
He emphasized that leadership should not only focus on profits and economic gains, but also on promoting humanity, social responsibility and national progress.
The traditional leader also highlighted the importance of knowledge, technology and innovation in shaping the future of businesses and national economies, stressing that countries that fail to adapt to changing global trends risk falling behind.
According to him, Ghana must position itself strategically by investing in education, innovation and entrepreneurship while encouraging young people to develop creative solutions to emerging economic and social challenges.
Togbe Afede said the country must continue to build resilient systems capable of supporting businesses and creating a peaceful environment for investment and economic growth.
He further underscored the need for unity and collective responsibility, stating that national development can only be achieved when leaders and citizens work together towards a common purpose.
The Agbogbomefia also encouraged business leaders to remain committed to ethical practices and transparency, adding that trust and accountability remain essential ingredients for sustainable economic development.
The Ghana CEO Summit brought together captains of industry, policymakers, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders to discuss strategies for accelerating economic growth, strengthening leadership and promoting investment opportunities in Ghana.
The summit focused on leadership, innovation, economic transformation and strategies to position Ghana as a competitive destination for investment and business development in Africa.
