Stonebwoy Calls for Natural Path to Collaboration with Shatta Wale and Sarkodie

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has said any potential collaboration with fellow music heavyweights Shatta Wale and Sarkodie should happen naturally, rather than being forced for public attention.

In an interview, the award-winning musician clarified that he is open to the idea of sharing a stage with the two artistes. However, he stressed that meaningful partnerships must be built on individual growth and mutual respect.

“I believe individual growth affects collective growth. Each one of us has to grow, and that is the most important thing rather than forcing growth together,” he said.

Stonebwoy explained that artistes should focus on strengthening their personal brands, expanding their reach, and building sustainable careers instead of relying on joint performances to remain relevant. According to him, a strong foundation for each artiste ultimately benefits the entire music industry.

He cited international acts such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido as examples of musicians who have achieved global success independently while still maintaining industry relationships. He suggested that their individual progress has contributed significantly to the broader growth of African music.

“When the timing is right, a collaboration can happen organically,” Stonebwoy noted, adding that such moments should not be rushed or manufactured.

The artiste also emphasized the importance of unity and support among musicians, saying that respectful relationships create the right environment for future partnerships. He indicated that collaboration becomes easier when artistes genuinely wish each other well and celebrate one another’s achievements.

However, he admitted that challenges arise when goodwill is absent within the industry.

“If there are people who do not want the well-being of others, how can they come together and perform?” he questioned.

Stonebwoy’s remarks come amid ongoing public discussions about unity among Ghana’s leading music stars. While fans frequently express interest in seeing major collaborations on stage, the artiste maintained that sustainable success depends on personal development, patience, and authentic relationships rather than external pressure.
