Gyakie Defends ‘After Midnight’ TGMA Nomination
Ghanaian singer Gyakie has publicly explained why she believes her project “After Midnight” deserves recognition in the Album/EP of the Year category at the upcoming 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Taking to social media platform X, the award-winning artiste highlighted the commercial success of her album and its impact on the local music scene. She noted that the project achieved a milestone not previously attained by a female artiste in the country.
“The only album by a female that went number one in the country btw. I say make I remind una,” she wrote, drawing attention to the chart performance of “After Midnight”.

These include “Torcher” by Stonebwoy, “Iron Boy” by Black Sherif, “Disturbation II” by Medikal, “Walk With Me” by Kweku Smoke, and “Ready” by Wendy Shay.
