Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup 2026 Set to Kick Off in Madina
The 11th edition of the Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup is set to commence on March 22, 2026, at the Madina Astroturf, with 16 teams competing for top honours.
The launch ceremony took place at the conference room of the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra, and was attended by key dignitaries, including Dr. Abubakar Marzuq, a representative of the National Chief Imam; Lawyer Seidu Nasigri, former Board Chairman of the Zongo Development Fund; competition organizers; representatives from participating communities; and members of the “Die Hard” Supporters Union.
During the launch, the tournament fixtures were announced. Adabraka Zongo will begin their title defence against Ashaley Botwe in Game 7, while Sabon Zongo opens the competition facing Nsawam.
Adding to the excitement, Black Stars forwards Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana have pledged their support for the tournament, contributing individual prizes and providing jerseys for participating teams.
The Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup, launched in 2015, was established in honour of the National Chief Imam, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, with the goal of fostering unity among Zongo communities across Ghana.
