TGMA Unveils Nominees for 27th Edition

Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) have officially unveiled nominees for several top categories ahead of the 27th edition of the prestigious awards scheme, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly competitive celebration of Ghanaian music.

The announcement, made by the Chief Executive Officer of Charterhouse, Robert Klah, revealed the top five nominees in key categories including Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year.

Speaking at the announcement, Klah encouraged fans to support their favourite artistes through voting.

“Tonight we announced the top five nominees in categories such as New Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year and Artiste of the Year. The list is out, and if your artiste is in there, make sure you vote for them,” he said.

He added that the awards ceremony will not only celebrate winners but also promote Ghanaian music globally.

“The grand finale is happening on May 9. It is going to be a busy night with the red carpet, the main awards, and electrifying performances. This is Ghana music and together we will do everything we can to project the music and the people,” Klah stated.

In the Artiste of the Year category, the nominees include Black Sherif, Medikal, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton, all of whom have made significant impact on the music scene over the past year.

For Most Popular Song of the Year, some of the songs in contention include “Foko” by King Paluta, “Nyame Ye” by Piesie Esther, “Shake It To The Max Remix “ by Moliy, Shenseea, Skillibeng and Silent Addy, “Olivia” by Lasmid, “Shoulder” by Medikal ft Shatta Wale & Beeztrap KOTM, “Excellent” by Kojo Blak ft Kelvyn Boy, “Crazy Love” by Wendy Shay ft Olivetheboy, “Sacrifice” by Black Sherif and “Gymnastic” by KiDi ft Kelvynboy & Kojo Blak.

The TGMA remains one of Ghana’s most respected music award schemes, celebrating excellence in songwriting, vocal performance, production, and visual creativity while highlighting the country’s vibrant music culture. As anticipation builds, fans and industry players alike are looking forward to the awards night where the winners will finally be crowned.
