Citi FM/Citi TV donates relief items to flood victims in South Dayi and Kpando

In a compassionate response to appeals from Members of Parliament (MPs) Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor and Dela Sowah of South Dayi and Kpando constituencies, the management of Citi FM/Citi TV has donated relief items valued at thousands of cedis to flood victims in the Volta Region.

The donation, which took place on Monday, November 6, 2023, aimed to alleviate the suffering of communities affected by the recent floods.

The relief items, including rice, drinks, water, clothes, and biscuits, were presented to the MPs at the premises of Citi FM.

Both MPs expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Citi FM/Citi TV for their generous gesture.

They emphasized the importance of these items in aiding the affected communities on their path to recovery from the devastating floods.

Delving into the dire situation in the Kpando constituency, Dela Sowah remarked, “It has been very terrible, and the impact in Kpando started way before now. In January, the flood was so terrible that our pontoon was even submerged.

9Over 700 households have been affected. The floods have caused a lot of damage in our constituency, and the people are struggling to cope. The immediate needs are medicine, clothing, and all that.”

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor echoed the urgency of the situation and called upon the government to extend assistance to his constituents, who are facing severe challenges. He stressed, “The people of South Dayi are in desperate need of food, water, clothing, and shelter.”

The MPs used this opportunity to appeal to other organizations and individuals to come forward and provide support to the affected communities.

Dafeamekpor emphasized the vital role that external assistance plays during times of crisis, stating, “We need all the help we can get.”

Samuel Attah Mensah, the Managing Director of Citi TV/Citi FM, underscored that this donation was a part of the company’s ongoing efforts to aid communities impacted by the Akosombo Dam Spillage.

It is a demonstration of their commitment to helping those in need during challenging times.

The donation from Citi FM/Citi TV serves as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and support in times of adversity, illustrating how communities, organizations, and individuals can come together to make a difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters.
