Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has once again proven her box office power as her latest film, BEHIND THE SCENES, records a historic opening weekend across multiple territories.
In Nigeria, BEHIND THE SCENES delivered the biggest opening weekend of 2025, grossing over ₦200 million, making it the first Nollywood title this year to cross the ₦200m mark in its opening days.
The film also pulled in 34,548 admissions, the highest weekend admissions recorded in 2025 so far, further cementing its dominance at the local box office. With this feat, the movie becomes Nollywood’s five-time box office opening weekend record holder, an unprecedented milestone.
The success was not limited to Nigeria. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, BEHIND THE SCENES recorded the biggest Nollywood opening weekend ever in those territories, earning £42,000, including advance screenings.
