Newmont appoints Danquah Addo-Yobo as Ghana Country Manager

Global mining giant Newmont Corporation has appointed Danquah Addo-Yobo as its Ghana Country Manager, effective 1st October 2025.
The appointment comes as part of Newmont’s strategic restructuring following the merger of its Africa and Asia-Pacific operations into a new Africa Asia Pacific (AAP) Business Unit.
As Country Manager, Mr Addo-Yobo will serve as Newmont’s lead representative in Ghana, responsible for overseeing operations, strengthening partnerships, and driving sustainable growth within the company’s Ghanaian business.
A seasoned executive with over 20 years of multinational leadership experience, Mr Addo-Yobo has worked across the mining, agribusiness, telecommunications, and logistics sectors. He previously served as Regional Chief Financial Officer for Newmont Africa and Canada and has held senior roles with Yara International, Maersk, and Vodafone.
At Yara International, he led the company’s transformation as Regional Managing Director for West Africa and Managing Director for Ghana, driving significant business growth and operational improvements.
Newmont described the appointment as a reflection of its renewed focus on local leadership, operational efficiency, and sustainable value creation in Ghana.
