Shatta Wale to support education, healthcare in Ashanti Region with Shaxi profits
Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has announced that 20 per cent of proceeds from his ride-hailing company, Shaxi, will be donated to the Manhyia Palace to support education and healthcare initiatives in the Ashanti Region.
The announcement came shortly after Shaxi officially launched operations in Kumasi, following its sponsorship of Sarkodie’s Homecoming Rapperholic concert at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 27 September 2025.
Shatta Wale, who performed at the concert, later took to Facebook to share a heartfelt message along with a photo of himself on stage.
“Small time Shaxi will be Kumasi’s number one ride-hailing app, and I will give 20 per cent of our proceeds to the Manhyia Palace to cater for schools and hospitals in the region,” he stated.
The ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker further expressed gratitude to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and fans in Kumasi for their overwhelming support.
“The love is too much, the support is too much. I thank you OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II… I bow my King,” he wrote.
Shatta Wale also reflected on his personal investment in the company, stating that the over USD2 million he put into Shaxi could have been spent on himself, but he chose to invest in a business he believes will benefit Ghanaians.
