First National Bank launches H.E.R. to empower Ghanaian women

First National Bank Ghana has unveiled ‘Helping Every Woman Rise (H.E.R.),’ a comprehensive initiative designed to give women access to customised financial products, business support, and holistic empowerment services.

The bank says the programme reflects its long-standing commitment to delivering impactful and inclusive banking that improves lives.

Announcing the launch, Sylvia Inkoom, Executive Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at First National Bank, said H.E.R. is more than a set of banking products.

“We are excited to launch Helping Every Woman Rise because we truly believe in the power of women to transform our communities and economy. Helping Every Woman Rise is a movement to empower women in business, family, community, and personal development,” she explained.

Ms Inkoom stressed that H.E.R. was conceived with a clear vision: to go beyond transactions and provide meaningful, long-term support.

“At First National Bank, we recognise that women are the backbone of families, the driving force behind SMEs, and central to thriving communities. Yet many face unique barriers in accessing tailored financial services. With the launch of H.E.R., we step in as a committed partner in every woman’s journey, offering solutions that reflect her ambitions and support her rise,” she said.

The H.E.R. offering includes a wide range of custom-built financial products aimed at entrepreneurs, professionals, and women-led businesses.

These include: Business and personal accounts designed to help women-led SMEs start, run, and grow their enterprises; Home financing deals with flexible terms to make homeownership more affordable; Tailored insurance packages that protect women in business and family life, and Pre-approved overdrafts and term loans, including facilities for women in agri-business

Beyond finance, the initiative provides a network of expertise and mentoring to ensure women can access guidance and growth opportunities.

Special H.E.R. ‘heroes’ have been assigned at all First National Bank branches to help customers select services that fit their personal, family, or business needs.

“H.E.R. is our way of saying: We see you, we hear you, and we are here to help you rise. Whether you’re a business owner, a farmer, a professional, or a mother, H.E.R. is built around your aspirations,” Ms Inkoom added.
