Sarkodie hails ‘Adonai’ remix as career’s best collaboration
Ghanaian rap artiste Sarkodie has described his 2014 collaboration with the late Castro, ‘Adonai’ Remix, as the best remix of his career.
Speaking during a live Instagram session with fans, the award-winning rapper explained that although he rarely enjoys working on remixes, Adonai stood out because of its emotional depth.
He noted that while the original version carried a faster tempo, the slowed-down beat by producer Streetbeatz allowed his message to be felt more strongly.
Sarkodie credited the late Castro’s input as instrumental in shaping what has become one of Africa’s most iconic songs, cementing both of their legacies.
The track continues to resonate widely, while Castro’s disappearance remains one of Ghana’s deepest musical tragedies.
Reflecting on his broader career, Sarkodie also highlighted his 2015 live album Mary as his best project to date.
The album, which will mark its 10th anniversary on 12 September, was created in honour of his late grandmother, who had encouraged him to embrace live instrumentation. He added that ‘Mary’ remains one of his most celebrated works, featuring personal tracks such as ‘Always On My Mind.’
