Prof. Robert Hinson introduces 360 Degree Leadership framework to Omni Group

In an era where business complexity continues to redefine organizational leadership, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, one of Africa’s foremost marketing scholars and host of Titans and Trailblazers on Metro TV, has introduced the Omni Group Human Capital Team to a cutting-edge leadership framework called 360 Degree Leadership.
Delivering a high-impact executive development session at the Omni Group headquarters in Accra, Professor Hinson described 360 Degree Leadership as an essential model for managing today’s dynamic, multi-sector organizations.
“In a multi-sector organization like Omni Group, where hybrid work, cross-functional teams, and multi-layered decision-making are the norm, 360 Degree Leadership is not just an option, it is a strategic imperative,” Professor Hinson stated.

The concept equips individuals to lead in all directions, upward by influencing superiors, across by collaborating with peers, downward by guiding teams, and inward through mastering self-leadership. This approach moves beyond the traditional top-down leadership paradigm by promoting multi-directional influence that transcends titles or positions.
Professor Hinson outlined five key dimensions of the model. First is directional influence, which is the ability to lead up, across, and down with clarity, confidence, and credibility. Second is developing and nurturing trust-based organizational relationships to strengthen internal collaboration.
Third is professional effectiveness by delivering consistent value while building a brand of excellence and integrity. Fourth is the ability to influence without relying solely on formal authority, driving change, innovation, and decision-making. Finally, dynamic workplace engagement involves adapting leadership style to suit complex and evolving organizational environments.
He stressed that these pillars enable leaders to expand their impact, drive cross-functional alignment, and foster innovation.
The participants were encouraged to appreciate how the model aligns with Omni Group’s diverse operations across energy, agriculture, diagnostics, construction, and retail. From Omni Energy to Baby Love and Mustek Engineering, the model offers a unified yet flexible approach to leadership across all subsidiaries.
Among the key benefits discussed was the ability for leaders at any level to shape strategy and outcomes beyond their formal job descriptions. They were also shown how integrating insights from different organizational levels enriches decision-making and action. Moreover, distributed leadership was highlighted as a way to enable faster adaptation to change and disruption.
Professor Hinson also advocated for a 360 Degree self-leadership diagnostic, urging participants to identify core strengths that energize and distinguish them, pinpoint development opportunities to unlock hidden capacity, clarify their personal leadership purpose as a compass for decision-making and influence, and adapt their leadership style to suit the situation, whether directive, coaching, or collaborative.
“Effective leadership is not about conforming to a perfect model. It’s about amplifying your authentic strengths while addressing strategic blind spots with humility and courage,” Professor Hinson added.
The session drew overwhelmingly positive feedback from the Omni Group Human Capital team, who praised the practical value and motivational tone of the training. Many pledged to adopt the 360 Degree framework to sharpen their influence across all levels of the organization.
