Afriyie Barnieh lands new deal after Zurich exit

By Lukman MUMIN

Ghanaian international Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has completed a move to Swiss second-tier side FC Aarau on a free transfer.

The former Hearts of Oak striker joins the club on a two-year deal after parting ways with FC Zurich.

Barnieh left Zurich following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

The 24-year-old joined the Swiss club in January 2023 from Hearts of Oak, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.

He featured in 50 competitive matches for Zurich, scoring two goals and registering four assists.

However, Barnieh struggled to cement a regular spot in the starting lineup during his stint with the club.
