Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana set for Atalanta move

Atalanta are on the verge of securing the services of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana in the summer transfer window.

Sulemana has emerged as a target for several clubs, including Serie A duo Atalanta and Genoa, as they look to add the enterprising forward to their ranks for the 2025/26 campaign.

Atalanta initially offered £10 million to Southampton in an attempt to lure the winger, but the bid was rejected by the Saints, who valued him between £10 million and £20 million.

However, the pacey Ghanaian winger is now close to joining Atalanta following an improved offer. The Serie A club, keen to sign Sulemana, has submitted a second bid close to £15 million.

Negotiations between Atalanta and Southampton are at an advanced stage, with the winger expected to complete the move in the coming days.

The 23-year-old made 26 Premier League appearances in the recently concluded season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Sulemana’s potential move to Atalanta would offer him the opportunity to feature in Serie A for the first time in his career.

Southampton struggled in the recently concluded Premier League season, finishing bottom with just 12 points from 38 matches.

Meanwhile, the former FC Nordsjælland winger’s contract with Southampton is set to expire in the summer of 2027.
