Doris Boaduwaa bagged a hat-trick as Ghana came from behind to beat Malawi 3-1 on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in a pre-Women’s Africa Cup of Nations friendly.
The Scorchers took the lead at the Ziaida Complex after a quarter of an hour, thanks to Tendai Sani.
But the Black Queens regrouped and equalized eight minutes later when Boaduwaa converted a penalty following a handball in the box.
Just after the hour mark, Ghana surged ahead courtesy of another strike from Boaduwaa.
With nine minutes left in regulation time, Boaduwaa completed her hat-trick with a simple tap-in into an open net after a failed clearance by the Malawi goalkeeper.
Ghana will open their Group C campaign against South Africa on July 7, 2025, at Honor Stadium in Oujda.
The Black Queens will then face Mali four days later before wrapping up the group stage with a clash against Tanzania on July 14 in Berkane.
The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will run from July 5–26, 2025, in Morocco.
