Man City agrees £46.3M deal to sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders

Manchester City have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders for 55 million euros (£46.3 million).

The 26-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract with City after agreeing on personal terms. The deal, which is subject to a medical, includes additional payments based on performance clauses.

City aim to complete the transfer in time for the Club World Cup, kicking off on June 14.

Reijnders will strengthen midfield options, which have been weakened by Mateo Kovacic’s injury. Kovacic is ruled out of the tournament in the U.S. after undergoing Achilles surgery. Additionally, Kevin De Bruyne is expected to miss the tournament amid growing speculation about a move to Napoli.

Capped 22 times by the Netherlands, Reijnders is a versatile midfielder who scored 15 goals in 54 appearances for Milan last season. He was named Serie A’s Midfielder of the Season, despite Milan’s disappointing eighth-place finish and failure to qualify for European competition.
