Ghanaian youngster Ibrahim Sulemana has been named in the Serie A Team of the Week for Matchday 37, following an inspired performance in Atalanta’s 3-2 comeback win over Genoa last weekend.
The 21-year-old midfielder stood out with a display marked by technical precision, tactical awareness, and sheer determination.
Making just his second start of the Serie A campaign, Sulemana not only scored a stunning goal but also contributed significantly in midfield, earning him the Man of the Match accolade.
Sulemana’s equaliser came early in the second half, turning the tide for Atalanta. After controlling a lofted ball with his chest outside the area, he struck a powerful half-volley that nestled into the far corner — an effort that underlined both his confidence and growing maturity.
His impact did not end with the goal. Throughout the match, Sulemana remained active in breaking up Genoa’s attacking play, recycling possession effectively, and pressing high to disrupt the rhythm of the opposition.
His performance set the tone for Atalanta’s eventual victory, which was completed with goals from Daniel Maldini and Mateo Retegui. His inclusion in the Best XI alongside top performers like Pedro, Pinamonti, and Orsolini reaffirms Sulemana’s growing influence in Serie A and adds weight to his reputation as one of Ghana’s most promising football talents.
