Hearts coach Aboubakar Ouattara loses hope in slim GPL title chance

Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that winning the Ghana Premier League this season will be a significant challenge for his side.
His remarks followed Sunday’s goalless draw with Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium in a match week 30 fixture.
Speaking after the game, Ouattara was realistic about Hearts’ title ambitions.
“Regarding the league, for us, we think it’s difficult to say we are winning the league. But we are fighting until the end of the season.
Everybody is fighting,” he said.
“Top four, top three, top two, top one it’s the same. We are fighting to achieve something. But don’t forget, we have come a long way.”
The result brought an end to Hearts’ four-match losing streak against their rivals but did little to improve their position on the table.
The Phobians now sit sixth with 46 points, trailing league leaders Nations FC by eight points with just four matches remaining.
The game itself offered few highlights. Kotoko had the first opportunity in the seventh minute through Kwame Opoku, but Hearts defender Konadu Yiadom intervened decisively.
Despite enjoying more possession, Hearts lacked cutting edge in attack.
Stephen Appiah Asare missed their best chance early in the second half, while Kotoko’s late efforts, including a shot from Albert Amoah, failed to break the deadlock.
