Vlisco unveils “The garden of sisterhood” collection

Dutch textile brand Vlisco launched its latest collection, The Garden of Sisterhood, on March 18, 2025, at the Vlisco store in Accra Mall.

The exclusive event brought together fashion enthusiasts, designers, and influential women to celebrate the power of sisterhood, unity, and self-expression through fashion.

With over a century of influence in African fashion, Vlisco introduced this collection as a tribute to collaboration and individuality. Inspired by the strength of women supporting one another, the designs incorporate intricate floral motifs, a bold yet delicate color palette, and patterns symbolising growth, resilience, and empowerment.

“The Garden of Sisterhood is a testament to the beauty and strength that emerge when women uplift one another. This collection embodies that spirit through its colors, patterns, and craftsmanship,” Vlisco stated.

Ghanaian designers Maison Midekor, Adwoa Yeboah Klothing, and Kwame Owusu showcased the collection through contemporary silhouettes that blend tradition with modern aesthetics. Their designs captivated attendees, reinforcing fashion as a means of self-expression and confidence.

The evening also featured a performance by musical duo Purple Strings, whose act reflected themes of unity and empowerment. Guests engaged in discussions on fashion’s role in community building while celebrating the collection’s debut.
