Real Valladolid announce signing of Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo

Real Valladolid have secured the services of Ghana international centre-back Joseph Aidoo from RC Celta Vigo on a loan deal until the end of the current season.
The move provides Aidoo with a fresh opportunity to regain form and contribute to Valladolid’s defensive stability as they fight for survival in La Liga.
The 28-year-old defender began his European journey in 2015 with Swedish side Hammarby before moving to Belgian outfit KRC Genk in 2017. His impressive performances there earned him a transfer to RC Celta in 2019, where he became a key figure in the Galician club’s backline.
Over the years, Aidoo has amassed 131 LaLiga appearances, showcasing his defensive solidity and aerial strength while also chipping in with three goals.
However, this season has been a frustrating one for the Ghanaian international.
A long-term injury sidelined him for most of the campaign, and upon his return, he found himself struggling for minutes, making just a single one-minute appearance for Celta.
With Valladolid in need of defensive reinforcements and Aidoo eager for game time, this move presents a perfect match. Aidoo’s experience and physical presence could prove vital as Valladolid look to climb out of the relegation zone.
