Women’s FA Cup: betPawa Introduces Historic Locker Room Bonus for Winning Teams
For the first time in the history of the Women’s FA Cup, betPawa has introduced a groundbreaking initiative, the Locker Room Bonus (LRB), to recognize and reward players and technical staff of winning teams. The eight teams that triumphed in last weekend’s round of 16 matches each received GH¢400 per player and technical staff member under this new program.
The beneficiaries of the LRB were Hasaacas Ladies, Rootz Sistaz FC, Faith Ladies, Northern Ladies, Sung Shining Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Jonina FC, and Fosu Royals. This initiative underscores betPawa’s commitment to celebrating and appreciating the efforts of players who are the heart of the game.
“It’s amazing to see our efforts rewarded. The Locker Room Bonus is more than just money; it’s recognition of our hard work and commitment,” said N-Yanyimaya Gnabekan of Ampem Darkoa Ladies. Her sentiment was echoed by Stephen Sarkodie, coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who described the LRB as a motivational boost for players and technical staff.
A Game-Changing Initiative
The Locker Room Bonus, introduced by betPawa in Ghana in 2022 for the Ghana Premier League (GPL), has now been extended to the Women’s FA Cup. The program ensures that players who make the matchday squad list, along with three technical staff members from the winning team, receive their bonuses directly via mobile money wallets immediately after the match.
This swift and direct payment process, which ensures players are rewarded before leaving the stadium, has earned the initiative its name, “Locker Room Bonus.” The extension of the LRB to the Women’s FA Cup is part of betPawa’s broader strategy to reward great performances and celebrate winners across multiple sports and countries.
Expanding Opportunities for Women’s Football
The announcement to include the Women’s FA Cup in the LRB program was made last November, with the incentive applied from the round of 16 to the final. Each player and technical staff member receives GH¢400 per victory, a significant first in Ghanaian women’s football.
The round of 16 lineup included Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Hasaacas Ladies, Jonina FC, Anlo Ladies, Rootz Sistaz FC, Sissamba Ladies, Soccer Intellectuals, Faith Ladies, Fosu Royals, Northern Ladies, FC Savanna, Ashtown Ladies, Tuutingli Unity Ladies, Blacoe Soccer Academy, Sung Shining Ladies, and Dreamz Ladies.
