Creation Africa Ghana Festival to showcase African creativity and innovation
The French Embassy in Ghana, in partnership with Alliance Française Accra and Impact Hub Accra, has announced the organisation of Creation Africa Ghana: The Festival—a vibrant celebration of African creativity, culture, and entrepreneurship.
The free festival, scheduled for November 9 at Alliance Française Accra, will highlight the achievements of young Ghanaian creators and entrepreneurs who participated in the Creation Africa Ghana programme.
The event offers a wide-ranging cultural experience, celebrating a year of mentorship, cultural exchange, and entrepreneurial growth across Ghana’s creative industries. Attendees can explore a variety of exhibits, performances, and interactive activities. Ghana’s finest creative talents in craft, design, digital media, and publishing will showcase their work, including prominent brands like Kayadua Studio, Wear Ghana, and Grey Area Studios Ghana.
The programme will feature an open mic session hosted by acclaimed artists Ria Boss and Pamm Takyiwaa, where local musicians like Ess Thee Legend and Stella Sena will perform, with Pure Akan headlining the event. Known for his unique sound and powerful lyrics, Pure Akan’s performance is set to celebrate Ghanaian identity and cultural pride.
In addition to live music, there will be a captivating stage adaptation of Gizo-Gizo: A Tale from the Zongo Lagoon, produced by Booksie in collaboration with Vivie’s Dance & Theatre Academy. Ghanaian short films will also be screened, including Neverland by Grey Area Studios and Born of the Earth by Kuukua Eshun, each exploring themes of identity, unity, and African resilience.
The festival will also present a 15-minute sound documentary titled L’avenir est déjà ici (The Future is Already Here), a unique exploration of antifascist activism in France by Joewackle J. Kusi and Konstantina Stavropoulou. Jambo Spaces will record a live podcast featuring creators who are actively shaping African culture, bringing together art and community through conversation.
The Ghana Food Movement will provide a culinary journey, showcasing traditional and modern Ghanaian dishes that highlight local flavors and the richness of Ghanaian food culture.
MC Kobby Graham will guide the event, ensuring an engaging and dynamic experience for all. The festival welcomes artists, entrepreneurs, families, and cultural enthusiasts of all ages to join this celebration of African innovation. Creation Africa Ghana is an initiative by the French Embassy to support entrepreneurs in Ghana’s Cultural and Creative Industries, foster job creation and bridge the gap between art and entrepreneurship.
