JZyNo extends apology to Dancegod Lloyd over ‘Butta My Bread’ video Misunderstanding

Ghana-based Liberian artiste JZyNo has reached out to Ghanaian dancer Dancegod Lloyd in an attempt to resolve a misunderstanding that arose during the video shoot for JZyNo’s hit song ‘Butta My Bread.’ Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes with Roselyn Felli, JZyNo recounted the series of events that led to the rift and expressed his desire to mend their relationship.

JZyNo explained that after Dancegod Lloyd participated in a dance challenge for ‘Butta My Bread,’ he wanted to feature the dancer in the music video. However, complications arose when Dancegod Lloyd had to travel to Spain for a tour, making him unavailable for the scheduled video shoot in Nigeria.

“The issue started when we were planning the ‘Butta My Bread’ music video. We were supposed to shoot in Nigeria, and Clarence Peters had already set the date. I informed Dancegod, and we discussed it with my manager at East Legon. But he mentioned he was going on tour in Spain,” JZyNo recalled.

Despite the scheduling conflict, JZyNo was determined to have Dancegod Lloyd in the video and even offered to cover the cost of a flight from Spain to Nigeria and back. However, Dancegod declined the offer, citing his tour commitments.

“Even though I knew how much I had in my account, I told him, ‘Bro, I want to buy you a ticket from Spain to Nigeria so you can be in the video.’ But he said ‘no,’ that he didn’t know when he would be back,” JZyNo shared.

As a result, JZyNo had to seek out other dancers and eventually hired two Nigerian dancers, Chris and Purpose Baby, to fill the role. Unfortunately, their involvement also fell through due to issues with costumes on the day of the shoot. JZyNo reached an agreement with them to feature in a future project instead.

In an effort to maintain his relationship with Dancegod Lloyd, JZyNo later contacted him to explain the situation and assure him that he wasn’t being sidelined. However, this conversation marked the beginning of a strained relationship between the two.

The tension between them became evident when they recently crossed paths at Original TV, where Dancegod Lloyd refused to shake hands with JZyNo, leaving the artist concerned.

During his appearance on Changes, JZyNo publicly apologized to Dancegod Lloyd, expressing regret for any hurt he may have caused.

“In public, I’m saying this. However I’ve hurt you, I’m sorry. No excuses, I’m sorry. Wherever you are, forgive me. I’m going to call you after this. Let’s meet up, maybe at a chop bar. Love, my brother,” JZyNo said. JZyNo, known for his songs such as ‘Onana,’ ‘Rula,’ ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe,’ ‘Butta My Bread,’ and his latest release ‘Mood’ featuring Khaid, hopes that his apology will help repair the friendship between him and Dancegod Lloyd.
