Azumah thrills boxing fans in an exhibition bout

Legendary Azumah Nelson returned to the boxing ring for the first time in 16 years for an exhibition bout against European Union Ambassador Irchad Razaaly at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The bout, aimed at raising funds for the development of boxing in Ghana, attracted members of the diplomatic corps, stakeholders in boxing, and a large turnout of boxing fans.
The three-time world champion Professor Azumah Nelson showcased his boxing skills, once again captivating fans with the prowess that made him a dominant force in world boxing.
Razaaly also impressed, demonstrating his own boxing abilities and exciting the crowd with his combinations.
After three rounds, the fight was declared a draw, with Nelson expressing his gratitude to the fans and lamenting that he wished he could have given them more but was tired.

Throughout the exhibition, the retired boxing icon remained the center of attention, receiving adulation from the audience.
Nelson took the opportunity to advise the youth to avoid negative influences and focus on their education and careers.
Ambassador Razaaly, whose corner was directed by Coach Torado Bruce, emphasized how boxing has fostered positive relations between Europe and Ghana.
In other bouts of the night, Dalvin Nelson, son of the legend Azumah Nelson, emerged victorious after a hiatus from boxing, defeating Philip Quansah in a Lightweight contest.
Delvin, who once famously said “Dadabas don’t box,” showcased a transformed performance, impressing the audience with his skills.
Other highlights included Mohammed Ablor, Azumah’s nephew, and Wesley Ayibonte displaying their talents, as well as Prince ‘The Buzz’ Larbie and Desmond Pappoe in juvenile bouts.
The action-packed night also featured bouts between Kelvin Addy and Kelvin Amartey in a Light Flyweight contest, and Theophilus Allotey against Nii Noi Dowuona in a Flyweight contest.
Bantamweights Stephen Armah and Wisdom Barnor, as well as Israel Commey and David Ankrah in a Lightwelterweight contest, provided thrilling displays.
Henry Malm faced a tough test against Rexford Cofie in a Light Middleweight bout, while Light Heavyweight Jonathan Tetteh, aka ‘Worldwide,’ was surprised to draw with Benedict ‘White Warrior’ Badu.
Janet Acquah of the Black Hitters secured victory over teammate Adelaide Djarbatey, while Jon Power extended his unbeaten record to nine wins.
Freezy Mcbones delivered a knockout blow to Gabriel Adoko in the Light Heavyweight bout, concluding a memorable night of boxing action.
