“I won’t be surprised if there was official endorsement on forged documents” – Nii Lante Vanderpuye

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye believes the

Norway visa scandal had some official approval despite denials from the ministry and the National Paralympic Committee.

The country has been hit yet again with another scandal following the reports of an 11-member team absconding in Norway.

The team reportedly acquired visas from the Norwegian Embassy with documents from the Sports Ministry and the president of the National Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen.

“We are talking about a regime under which we’ve seen situations where people were virtually made athletes, journalists and reporters when they are not during the Australia Commonwealth Games you all know what happened, the Commonwealth Visa scandal…government officials, state officials were involved. What has come out of that issue, what has come of that case,” Nii Lante told Citi FM’s Eye Witness News.

“Under this government, everything is possible…I would not be surprised if this so-called issue of forged documents had an official endorsement.”

One person has been apprehended while the coach of the ‘fake’ Paralympic team, George Gyamfi Gyasi, died after arriving in Oslo.
