Ghana defender Nicholas Opoku joins Kasimpasa in Turkey

Black Stars defender Nicholas Opoku has completed a transfer move to Turkish Superliga side Kasimpasa SK.
The 27-year-old Ghanaian centre-back oins Kasimpasa on a free transfer after departing French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC after three seasons.
The deal was confirmed on Monday during the signing ceremony held at the Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities after his passing his medical at the Liv Hospital in Istanbul.
Opoku departed Amiens after the end of the 2023-24 campaign following the expiration of his contract. He made 23 appearances in the Ligue 2 last season.
Meanwhile, he played 102 matches in all competitions for Amiens across the three seasons he spent at the French club after joining from Udinese Calcio in July 2021.
The Black Stars defender moved from Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League to Club Africain in Tunisia before his transfer to Udinese in July 2018. Opoku has 18 caps for the Ghana national team since making his debut in July 2017 in an international friendly against the USA.
