Antoine Semenyo becomes Bournemouth’s 6th top scorer in EPL

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has climbed to sixth place on AFC Bournemouth’s all-time top scorers in the Premier League.

The Ghana international netted his 15th Premier League goal against Chelsea to help the Cherries secure a point at Stamford Bridge in a thrilling encounter.

Semenyo’s second-half stunner almost gave Bournemouth victory until Blues captain Reece James scored a 95th-minute freekick to salvage a point for the hosts.

The 25-year-old joined the Cherries in January 2023 and gradually became a mainstay at the club. Semenyo has been Bouremouth’s best player this season, with six Premier League goals and two assists.

Following his goal against Chelsea, the former Bristol City player has now scored 15 Premier League goals, and he is now behind Ryan Fraser (16 goals), Junior Stanislas (21), and Dominic Solanke (27) in the club’s leading scorers chart in the English top-flight.

The other players above Semenyo on the list are Callum Wilson, with 41 goals, and Josh King, with 47 strikes.

Despite Semenyo’s exploits for the club, his future remains in doubt with Liverpool and Newcastle United interested in his services.
