IGP Reaffirms Commitment to Peace and Security in Bole

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohonu, has reiterated the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in the Bole area of the Savannah Region.
His assurance came during a working visit to the Savannah Regional Police Headquarters in Damongo, where he interacted with the Special Operations Team deployed to Bole. The visit, described as morale-boosting, was aimed at strengthening operational readiness and professionalism among officers.
Mr. Yohonu urged them to remain disciplined, vigilant, and ethical in carrying out their duties. He stressed the importance of proactive policing and collaboration with other security agencies to ensure lasting peace.
“The nation counts on your professionalism and commitment. Stay alert, stay united, and continue working collaboratively with other security agencies to enhance coordination and efficiency,” the IGP said.
He directed officers to step up daily patrols, particularly in boundary areas of Bole, where reports of displacement have raised concerns. He noted that vulnerable communities should receive special protection to prevent conflict escalation and to guarantee the safety of residents.
Mr. Yohonu also underscored the need for inter-agency cooperation, stressing that stronger collaboration with other security institutions would improve crime-fighting and conflict management efforts.
Following the engagement, the Special Operations Team returned to Bole to continue critical duties, including community patrols, intelligence gathering, and conflict prevention. Police say their sustained presence has already contributed significantly to stabilizing the area and restoring public confidence.
