Alois to contest Nandom NPP Parliamentary Primaries

A seasoned Social Development Consultant and former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Social Investment Fund (SIF), Alois Kog Kyaakpier Mohl, has officially declared his intention to contest the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries for the Nandom Constituency in the Upper West Region.

This announcement was made via his Facebook page to formally inform the public, particularly his constituents in Nandom.

In his statement, Alois declared his commitment to participate in the parliamentary primaries to secure the NPP’s nomination as the next parliamentary candidate for Nandom.

 His decision comes after extensive consultations with various party stakeholders, including the council of elders, patrons, national and regional executives, constituency and polling station executives, party supporters, youth, grassroots, traditional leaders, clergy, and his family.

His primary goal is to offer new and people-centered leadership to reinvigorate Nandom as a socially inclusive community.

Alois boasts over 30 years of experience in the public service, holding various key positions.

His career highlights include serving as the Head of Desk of International Social Services (ISS) at the Department of Social Welfare’s Headquarters from 2002 to 2011.

 He also held the position of Deputy Director and Head of Desk of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) at the Ministry of Social Welfare and Manpower Development from 2011 to 2013.

Furthermore, he served as the Deputy Director and National Coordinator of Care Reforms at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection from 2013 to 2015.

Alois’ involvement in the NPP is extensive.

He held the position of Second Vice Chairman for the Lawra-Nandom Constituency from 2005 to 2010 and acted as the Campaign Coordinator for the NPP Parliamentary candidate from 2005 to 2008.

He also chaired the Upper West Regional Disciplinary Committee from 2010 to 2014 and was a member of the National ICT Committee during the same period, which introduced the NPP’s first plastic biometric membership cards.

Additionally, Alois served as the National Representative on the Regional Executive Elections Committee in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022.

He was an integral part of the Dr. Mahmud Bawumia (DMB) Campaign Team from 2008 to 2016 and a member of the Upper West Regional Campaign Team in the 2020 December Elections.

 His contributions extended to serving as a member of the Elections Monitoring Team in both the 2008 and 2012 elections and as a Member of the Post-Elections Research Team (Heyman Committee) in 2009. He also played a role in the ‘D-day’ Elections Monitoring Team, V.16.

In his party’s internal affairs, Alois Kog Kyaakpier Mohl served as the Member Secretary of the Presidential Primaries Election Committee in 2007 and was a Member of the National Executive Committee and National Council Member from 2005 to 2010.

His extensive experience and background in public service and the NPP make him a notable contender in the Nandom Constituency’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

The race for the NPP parliamentary candidate in Nandom promises to be a closely watched contest as the party prepares for the upcoming elections. Alois Kog Kyaakpier Mohl’s declaration further underscores the importance of community-focused leadership and his commitment to serving the people of Nandom.
