Yolo actor Drogba debunks healing reports after church visit

Ghanaian actor Michael Pesah, popularly known as ‘Drogba’ from the hit youth series YOLO, has debunked claims that he was completely healed of his medical conditions after attending a service at the Christ Embassy Youth Church (CEYC) in August 2024.
Pesah, who has been living with rare neurological disorders, said his testimony was taken out of context and sensationalised by a blogger, leading to widespread misinformation and negative consequences for his health campaign.
Speaking in an interview with DJ Slim, the actor recalled that the healing service gave him a sense of relief he had not experienced in years.
“I noticed that I could sit on the chair for more than an hour. That was something I was never able to do for a long time. It was a miracle. Also, anytime I took off my nose mask, I went through severe anxiety. But in the church, when I took off my mask, there was no anxiety. So, I was just happy,” he said.
Pesah clarified that while he experienced temporary relief and shared that he “felt better,” he never claimed to have been completely healed.
“My issue isn’t with the pastor or the members. My issue is with the blogger who saw everything yet decided to cut a portion and twist my words and wrote, ‘Drogba said he is healed,’” he lamented.
The misinformation, the actor added, had a damaging effect on his fundraising efforts, as some donors assumed his health challenges were over and withdrew support.
Pesah has been candid about his health struggles, revealing in 2024 that he suffers from multiple conditions, including Sleep Apnoea Syndrome, Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder, GAD Positive and Cerebellar Ataxia. The conditions have affected his mobility, balance and overall well-being.
In August 2024, he launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking USD280,000 to finance advanced medical treatment abroad, after exhausting his financial resources on care in Ghana.
The actor urged the public to disregard misleading reports and appealed for continued support as he battles the life-threatening conditions.
