Ghana’s equities market ended the trading week on April 17, 2026, with a strong bullish run that lifted investor wealth significantly and pushed total market capitalisation beyond GH¢266 billion, driven by broad-based gains across key listed equities.

The financial sector index, the GSE Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), also recorded a sharp advance of nearly 242 points, ending the week at 8,314.05.
The performance translated into a notable increase in market value, with total capitalisation rising by over 7.5 per cent week-on-week, up from GH¢247.7 billion in the previous week to exceed GH¢266 billion.
Trading activity intensified significantly over the period. Total traded volume climbed by nearly 47 per cent to over 12.7 million shares, while the total value of transactions reached approximately GH¢62.3 million, reflecting heightened investor participation across multiple counters.

Despite pockets of volatility, the overall market tone remained strongly positive, reinforcing growing investor confidence and sustained bullish momentum on the Ghana Stock Exchange.
