Kade SSNIT marks mobile service week at Asamankese and Adeiso
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) marked its annual Mobile Service (SMS) week, bringing essential services closer to the people of Asamankese and Adeiso.
The event was part of SSNIT’s initiative to make its services more accessible to members and prospective clients who may find it challenging to visit their offices.
The Director-General of SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang, launched this year’s SMS week in Sunyani, emphasizing its purpose to create convenient avenues for SSNIT branches to set up camps in strategic locations within their operational areas.
This approach aims to facilitate easier access to SSNIT services for members and potential clients.
Themed “Choose Your Tomorrow, Sign Up for Seed from SSNIT Today,” the 2023 SSNIT Mobile Service Week focused on sensitizing the self-employed on the importance of joining the scheme and the benefits they stand to gain as members.
The Kade Branch Manager, Madam Marian Adjei, led her team to engage with market vendors, tailors, barbers, seamstresses, taxi and trotro drivers, as well as establishments in Asamankese and Adeiso.
The team emphasized the significance of securing one’s future with SSNIT, particularly for the self-employed.
The programme, spanning five days, offered various services, including statement printing, new member enrolment, member re-enrolment, employer registration, SSNIT and National Identification Authority (NIA) merger, benefits processing initiation, and benefit status verification.
The team also educated formal sector workers on the importance of regularly checking their statements and updating personal records with SSNIT.
Madam Marian Adjei, during the program’s culmination, urged those benefiting from the scheme to share the positive impact of SSNIT with their undecided counterparts. She emphasized the importance of reducing old age dependency in Ghana and encouraged individuals to “choose your tomorrow, sign up for seed from SSNIT today.”
The people of Adeiso and Asamankese expressed their joy at having SSNIT services brought directly to their communities.
They called on SSNIT to organize more programs aimed at public awareness and education.
