Samartex pays courtesy call on President Nana Akufo-Addo

Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex 1996 paid a courtesy call on the president of the country Nana Akufo-Addo following their success last season.
The Nsenkyire-based club led by by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif arrived at the Jubilee House alongside the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nsenkyire, Business Development Manager, Paul Anyaba and other officials.
Some members of the playing body were also included in the team that visited the president as they announced their participation in the CAF Champions League to the commander-in-chief.
“We will see what we can do to help. We must help, it’s a national assignment that you are undertaking, you are waving the flag of Ghana so we too have to do what we can to support you. Times are not the best as far as money is concerned. We will do our best to help,” said the President.
“It’s been some time since we had a winner in the continental tournament, perhaps you have the opportunity to be that but we must all support you.”
Samartex will begin their African adventure next month with a two-legged game against Victoria United of Cameroon.
