Akosua Kyerewaa Boateng, Ghana’s 1st Certified Transfer Designer

Human Resource professional Akosua Kyerewaa Boateng has made history as Ghana’s first Certified Transfer Designer, marking a significant milestone in the country’s corporate training and organisational development landscape.

Speaking on Business Breakfast on Zed 101.9FM, Mrs. Boateng explained that her certification was awarded by the Institute for Transfer Effectiveness in Switzerland.

The certification recognises professionals who are trained to ensure that knowledge and skills acquired during corporate training programmes are effectively applied in the workplace to drive measurable performance outcomes.

She noted that her pioneering achievement comes at a critical time when many organisations struggle to demonstrate returns on training investments.

According to her, corporate training is often conducted without clearly defined expectations, leaving participants unsure of the purpose and organisations unable to measure impact.

“As Ghana’s first Certified Transfer Designer, my focus is to ensure that training does not end with attendance certificates. The goal is to translate learning into performance and measurable results,” she said.

Mrs. Boateng emphasised that organisations spend substantial resources on employee development, yet training budgets are frequently reduced due to the absence of visible returns.

She believes her new qualification positions her to help organisations design structured transfer strategies that bridge the gap between learning and on-the-job application.

Her certification places Ghana on the global map in the growing field of transfer effectiveness, a discipline dedicated to maximising the impact of corporate learning initiatives.

Mrs. Boateng aims to support organisations in improving productivity, accountability and performance through intentional, results-oriented training systems.

Mrs. Boateng described the achievement not only as a personal milestone but also as a step forward for Ghana’s human resource and organisational development profession.
