Popcaan Hails Ghana’s Shea Butter Museum as “10/10” Cultural Masterpiece

Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan has rated his recent visit to Ghana’s Shea Butter Museum a perfect “10/10,” describing the experience as both enlightening and unforgettable.

The award-winning entertainer toured the museum during his visit to Ghana, where he was hosted by Ghanaian entrepreneur and model Hamamat Montia. Montia personally guided the artiste through the history, cultural value, and traditional production process of shea butter, a product deeply rooted in the heritage of Northern Ghana.

During the tour, Popcaan explored a series of exhibits detailing the origins of shea butter and its importance to local communities. He also witnessed firsthand the intricate craftsmanship involved in transforming raw shea nuts into the widely celebrated natural product used in cosmetics and skincare around the world.

The dancehall star appeared visibly impressed as he interacted with displays and learned about the generational knowledge passed down through women in Northern Ghana who have preserved the craft for centuries.

Speaking after the tour, Popcaan did not hide his admiration. “This is a 10/10 experience, the history, the culture, the authenticity, everything about it is powerful,” he said.

He added that the visit reinforced the need to spotlight Africa’s indigenous products and traditions on the global stage. “We have to continue promoting these natural products and our heritage to the world. People need to see the richness of what’s here,” he stated.

Montia, known for her advocacy of African heritage and natural beauty, expressed appreciation for the artiste’s interest in Ghanaian culture, noting that such visits help amplify local industries internationally.

Popcaan’s stop at the Shea Butter Museum forms part of his broader activities while in the country. His presence and endorsement highlight the strengthening cultural ties between Jamaica and Ghana, as well as the growing curiosity among global artistes about African history and traditions.

The visit not only celebrated Ghana’s shea butter legacy but also underscored Africa’s expanding influence on the global cultural landscape.
