Kotoko set to re-sign midfielder Richard Boadu

By Lukman Mumin

Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko are pushing for the acquisition of experienced midfielder Richard Boadu ahead of the upcoming 2025/2026 football campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors are keen to bolster their squad for the new season, with their former captain emerging as a priority target.

Since departing Ghana for greener pastures in 2023, the combative midfielder has featured for several clubs on the African continent, including Libyan giants Al-Ahly Benghazi and Al-Tahaddy.

Currently, the 27-year-old is on the books of Club Africain, having joined the Tunisian powerhouse during the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian giants are eager to add the experienced midfielder to their ranks ahead of their continental campaign.

However, Boadu will need to resolve contractual issues with the Tunisian club before finalizing a move to Kotoko.

According to Kessben FM, the Porcupine Warriors are close to finalizing a deal for the midfielder, pending negotiations between the player and Club Africain.

Kotoko have already secured the services of eight new players as part of their rebuilding plan for the 2025/26 season.
