Tech Content Creator Shares Journey In the Digital Space

By Lois Amanor
Tech content creator Nana Yaw has opened up about his path into the digital space, describing both the opportunities and challenges of building a career online.
Tech content creation is fast becoming one of the most exciting opportunities for young people in Ghana and across the world. It offers a platform to educate, influence, and inspire, but it also comes with challenges such as high costs, competition, and the need for consistency.
Speaking on the Zed Tech Show on Zed 101.9 FM, tech content creator Nana Yaw shared his personal journey, highlighting both the opportunities and roadblocks he has faced.
Nana Yaw explained that he began content creation around 2019, initially experimenting with gossip and trending topics online. His first motivation was simply to be recognized on the internet. He saved about a thousand Ghana cedis to buy basic equipment, including a microphone and tripod, and started producing review videos on Facebook.
However, he soon realized gossip content was not his passion. “I didn’t have the energy for it,” he said. Instead, he turned to technology, a field he had loved since childhood. He began creating videos that educated people about online scams, unsafe websites, and apps. Those videos quickly gained attention, marking the beginning of his rise as a tech content creator.
Nana Yaw admitted that the journey was not easy. “In Ghana, people were not used to educational content. At first, they were not interested. But over time, they started consuming it,” he explained. He credited hard work and persistence for helping him push through.
He also addressed the perception that tech content creation is expensive. While acknowledging that gadgets and products can be costly, he argued that creators do not always need the latest devices to succeed. “It’s not by force to buy an iPhone 17 Pro. You can start by reviewing websites. There are thousands of them nobody has talked about,” he said.
Nana Yaw stressed that tech content creation goes beyond simply posting videos. It involves scripting, researching, and convincing an audience that you know what you are talking about. “The people who consume tech content are often well educated. You have to do massive research before you even press record,” he explained.
He added that without brand collaborations, creators often have to buy products themselves, which can be financially demanding. Even then, reselling those products rarely covers the full cost.
Despite these challenges, Nana Yaw believes passion and consistency are the keys to success. His story shows that while tech content creation requires investment and effort, it also offers opportunities to educate, protect, and inspire audiences in the digital age.
