Atlantic Catering goes global as first in Ghana to join UN sustainability pact

Atlantic Catering has officially become the first full-service catering and hospitality company in the country to join the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

The official signing took place at Atlantic Catering’s head office in Accra during a private onboarding ceremony attended by leadership from both Atlantic Catering and UN Global Compact Ghana.

The move marks a significant step in aligning Ghana’s private sector with international sustainability standards.

The UN Global Compact encourages businesses worldwide to adopt responsible practices in human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption, while promoting progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Companies like Atlantic Catering play a vital role in shaping a business environment that is responsible, ethical, and future-focused. Their participation strengthens our mission to advance sustainability across all sectors,” stated Mr. Tolu Lacroix, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Ghana.

As part of its commitment, Atlantic Catering is already integrating the Ten Principles of the UNGC into its operations through its CARES initiative, which focuses on waste reduction, ethical sourcing, employee well-being, and community impact.

“Joining the UN Global Compact is a natural extension of our values. We understand that true hospitality goes beyond exceptional food and service. It’s also about CARE, caring for people, communities, and the planet,” Maud Lindsay-Gamrat, CEO of Atlantic Catering said.

Speaking about the significance of the partnership, the CEO of Atlantic Catering, added: “This step reflects our belief that business can be a force for good. We look forward to learning, growing, and contributing meaningfully within this global network.”
