Silver Star Tower Marks 20 Years of Transforming Accra’s Commercial Skyline

By: Solomon Nartey Tetteh

The Executive Director of the Silver Star Tower, Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, has hailed the landmark building’s two decades of influence on Ghana’s corporate landscape, describing its journey as a testament to bold vision, strategic investment, and enduring partnerships. He made the remarks during the Tower’s 20th anniversary dinner held in Accra on November 15, 2025.

Addressing guests, Mr. Kalmoni said the milestone celebration reflected not only the passage of time but the success of a project that helped redefine Accra’s modern commercial identity.

“We celebrate a milestone, the 20th Anniversary of the Silver Star Tower. It is an occasion of immense pride, marking two decades since our inception as a visionary project that redefined the commercial landscape of Accra,” he said.

Mr. Kalmoni noted that the land for the project was acquired in 2005, with operations commencing in October that same year. At the time, the area was largely undeveloped, but the developers foresaw its potential to become Ghana’s new commercial nucleus.

“We recognized the latent potential of this area and determined that the new Uptown would become the nucleus of modern commerce for Ghana and the gateway to West Africa,” he said.

He stressed that the Silver Star Tower became the first multi-storey office complex in Airport City. Built to international standards, the eight-storey structure set a new benchmark for premium office space in Ghana.

Mr. Kalmoni acknowledged the Tower’s tenants, leading firms in banking, energy, automotive, aviation and financial services for helping build a thriving ecosystem of commerce and innovation.

“You are the dynamic community that fuels this ecosystem of innovation and trade. You chose this location for its strategic advantage, and in doing so, you elevated the Tower to a hub where global and local business ambition converges,” he said.

He noted that the Tower’s true value lies in the people and organizations that occupy it, whose presence has strengthened its status as a premier corporate address.

Mr. Kalmoni announced the development of Silver Star Tower II (SST2), a ten-storey ultra-modern office complex that will offer 25,000 square meters of highly efficient workspaces.

The new tower will feature smart glass technology, LED energy-efficient lighting, an internal sky garden, and retail spaces on the first two floors. It will also include parking space for 355 vehicles.

“Our focus remains on proactively meeting the evolving demands of the modern business world,” he said.

The Executive Director further highlighted recent upgrades to the existing Tower, including improvements to the lobby, air-conditioning systems and eco-friendly additions such as solar EV charging stations.

Mr. Kalmoni also emphasized that both the existing and upcoming towers are strategically positioned to support businesses taking advantage of opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“We are committed to ensuring this facility remains a conducive and supportive environment for investors and enterprises positioning themselves for continental expansion,” he said.

He described the Silver Star Tower as more than a commercial edifice, but a testament to the power of a strategic vision, realized through dedication and partnership.
