Kamaldeen Sulemana thrilled after winning Atalanta goal of the month

Kamaldeen Sulemana’s start to life at the Gewiss Stadium is nothing short of remarkable. The Ghanaian international struggled with injuries at previous clubs, but it appears that is behind him.
Atalanta declared Sulemana’s goal as the Goal of the Month winner, but the agile winger revealed he did not expect such a rapid start in Bergamo.
The Black Stars forward joined Atalanta in the summer transfer window from relegated Premier League side Southampton and has quickly become a fan favourite in Italy.
In seven Serie A matches, Sulemana has scored two goals and also registered his first senior goal for Ghana during October’s international break. Despite arriving with enormous talent, Sulemana struggled during his time in England and expected a slow start in Italy.
“I did not think I would start so well. I wanted to show everyone my worth, especially Atalanta. I am grateful to have the opportunity to play for this fantastic club. I really like the city of Bergamo. I like the team; I breathe positivity every day. But now I am no longer a surprise for my opponents, so I will have to study new surprises!” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 23-year-old has been one of Ivan Juric’s key players in the ongoing campaign. The former Stade Rennais attacker started for Atalanta following his return from international duty, as the 2023 Europa League winners were held to a goalless draw by Lazio on Sunday, 19 October.
Internationally, Kamaldeen was on target for the Black Stars as they thrashed the Central African Republic 5-0 in Meknes, Morocco, during the 2026 World Cup qualifier.
